About Durham Residents Directory

Why This Reference Exists

Durham records are held by several offices and collections, not in a single public resident list. This private reference organizes links to the Durham County Register of Deeds, Tax Administration, courts, elections resources, libraries, and archives so a reader can begin with the custodian of the actual record.

What the Directory Points To

These pages describe official search routes and historical collections, including parcel and deed records, court-access channels, voter resources, city directories, maps, and archival indexes. A record can describe an owner, a filing party, a registration status, or a dated printed address. It does not automatically identify a current resident.

Durham County Library’s North Carolina Collection and the applicable county or state portal are the preferred confirmation sources. Information may change, be incomplete, or require redaction.

What We Cannot Provide

We are not a government office, records custodian, or legal service. We cannot retrieve, certify, correct, suppress, or interpret a government record. A deed question belongs with the Register of Deeds, a court-file question with the Clerk, and a parcel question with Tax Administration.

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its information must not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose. Do not use a public record or linked resource to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
